About a week ago, the weather in Oman changed dramatically. When we arrived in the summer, it was scorching hot and uncomfortably humid. In October, the humidity dropped a bit, but the heat remained. Now the humidity has almost disappeared and the temperature is absolutely perfect - about 75 degrees F., everyday. I'm told that it will remain this way until March. In many ways, it feels like a Washington, DC springtime. Even the flowers are now blooming.
Taking advantage of this change, we started off this past weekend with breakfast on our rooftop balcony. After a Belgian waffle feast, we jumped in the car to go for a hike. We went to a place that I had been to with the boys, but was new for Laura (see previous post with video). The trail goes through the rugged mountains that surround the old city of Muscat. After trekking around for about an hour, we finished off the day eating houmus and falafel sandwhiches at an outdoor Arabic cafe. Ahhh. Life is good.
