It can be easy to forget it's Christmas out here in the Arabian Peninsula. Despite the fact that we are in the land of the Magi, the usual signs of Christmas are not around, and thankfully, the commercial hype is also absent! So, our Christmas was low key and focused on the important things, like being together, sharing time with new friends, and devouring as many sweets as the pancreas will allow. Hope you enjoy the photos we took to remember this holiday and share with you.

Are you able to find a Catholic Church there, or do you go to an interfaith service ?
ReplyDeleteThe do have a Catholic Church here, and we went to one service, but for a number of reasons and we did not feel so at home there. So, we are going to the Protestant Church of Oman, which has a "reformed" service in the morning that we attend, and an Anglican service in the evening. The lead Pastor is PC USA and the associate pastor is Anglican and they take turns leading the services. They are wonderful, we really like getting to know them, and the church is quite small, which is nice. There are not other options so I think we have found our home and we feel good about it. It's not my grandparents' church, but I would have to move back to Cleveland for that!
