We recently took a trip to northern Germany and the Baltic Sea. Dotted with various islands that lie off the coast, we stayed on Usedom, which is divided between Germany and Poland. The island has been a tourist destination since the 19th century and the numerous seaside spas and resorts have a distinctive German resort architecture, which makes it a charming place to spend a weekend away from Berlin.
