Several weeks ago we joined a local pool and tennis club. We have already spent half a dozen afternoons there. The location of the club on the beach is spectacular. Presently, the main attraction for us is the tennis courts. The boys are taking up the sport very quickly. When the weather warms up, we will add more pool time to our visits. There is also a restaurant and some billiards tables and a gym for adults. We've been ending each of our trips with short strolls on the beach. The club was established to encourage communication and interaction among employees of foreign governments and the Omani foreign ministry. As a result, membership is mainly diplomats. Right now the club is underused, but as the weather warms up and the pool gets more use, I'm sure we will get to know some of the other members.
Glad the boys are enjoying tennis. We have a big indoor tennis center up the street and I keep meaning to look in to lessons there for the girls.
ReplyDeleteYes - it's great exercise for them and Matt is happy to throw balls at them all day long and they don't seem to mind chasing them down. If your girls do start - make sure you get the small size rackets (we got ours at Target) and then they also sell big "training" tennis balls that are bigger and soft, almost like foam, so there is no fear about getting hit with one and they are a bigger, slower target. The balls are made by Wilson or Penn I think.
ReplyDeleteThe boys look happy and we really enjoy watching them play tennis ;) The pool looks great and we would love to come and swim with you guys!! If we could only jump in our car...
